CARING FOR YOUR NEW PURCHASE - We recommend that you regularly wash out your boat with clean water. Special attention should be made to any metal based moving parts if fitted. Venture Canoes recommends that these are regularly lubricated with a PTFE based lubricant. STAINS AND MARKS - Most can be easily washed from the surface with clean soapy water. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaners as these could have a damaging effect. REPAIRING 'CoreLite' - In the unlikely event that you dent, heavily gouge, or split your canoe, you should seek advise from your local Venture Canoes dealer. However minor damage can also be repaired simply and is unlikely to lead to any further damage. These minor repairs should only be carried out by your authorised Venture Canoes Dealer. If you have any minor dents in the material leaving the canoe in sunlight to slowly warm up will allow the material to return to its original shape . TRANSPORT - Canoes can be transported safely and easily on a standard roof rack. Canoes are best transported in an upside down position, with the gunwales making contact with the roof rack or trailer. For ease and simplicity, webbing roof rack straps with self-locking buckles are best (available from your local Venture Canoes dealer). Shock cord or bungee cord should not be used, as it will not hold your boat securely. Venture Canoes also advise to tie both the bow and stern to the front and back of the transporting vehicle. Ensure that proper lifting techniques are used when lifting/carrying the canoe. If possible get another person to help you lift/carry your canoe. STORAGE - We suggest that, if at all possible to store your canoe indoors out of direct sunlight. We use very strong ultra-violet stabilisers, but keeping it indoors will still prolong the life of your craft. If the boat must be stored outside, try to keep it undercover. Avoid subjecting the boat to any undue pressure for any length of time. This can occur in situations such as letting the boat fill with rainwater or stacking boats on top of one another. These pressures can warp the shape of the boat and the effect can be more severe the longer the boat is subjected to them. LOST AND DAMAGED PARTS - Spares can be obtained through your Venture Canoes dealer. |
